Now we’re half way through the one to the nine, it’s a good time to talk voice over trends. Here are the most in-demand styles for this year so far.

Well for me anyway.

For commercial voice overs (television, radio, cinema and online) here’s my top 5:

1. 👋🏻 friendly / conversational

4. ☀️ warm / welcoming
5. 🤱🏼 nurturing

While the corporate world of voice over is a little different. Here’s my top 5 styles for explainer videos, eLearning, and telephony voice overs:

1. 🌱 natural / not ‘salesy’
2. 🏆 inspiring
3. 📊 confident / credible
4. 🖋 eloquent
5. 💼 professional

When booking your voice over, don’t be afraid to get all emotional and describe it like you mean it damn it. Here’s a great example from a recent project:
