Now voicing: software explainer
I am starting to think software explainers may just be my thang. I voice a bucketload of these bad boys and it’s brilliant. Software products (and associated target audiences) are so diverse there really is no one particular style of read for these voice overs. Definitely keeps life interesting.

Today marked the end of the Olympics. No more feelings of inadequacy around my lack of coordination, level of fitness or way I rock a tracksuit for another four years. Great. As the athletes take their bats and balls and go home, I want to leave you with this Olympic voice over gold.

It was late last year. Husbo did the unthinkable. In a momentary lapse in concentration he agreed to Apple’s enticing El Capitan OS proposition. And why wouldn’t he? Promises of increased productivity with split screens and a more intuitive Spotlight search. Pinned swipes and notes checklists—oh my. It sounded fan-bloody-tastic. Until I loaded up the ol’ DAW to record an urgent voice over.

I have been working on a heap of telephony voice overs lately, so I thought hello, great time to update my voice over demo of all things phone.
Where did you pick up that dodgy accent?
When I tell people I am a voice actor, they usually respond with ‘oh cool—do an [insert country] accent’. To which I reply: ‘rack off Drazic’ (a somewhat obnoxious 90s comeback for those not familiar with Heartbreak High).
