An explainer I recently voiced for fundraising software. A lot can be said for scripts that allow time for visuals and music to establish and then continue a nice pace throughout …
i.e. do not cram as many words as possible into your allotted time (as is often the case with commercial scripts). A slower pace with strategic gaps between concepts really supports the purpose and intent of an explainer video. That is, explaining a complicated topic or process in easy to digest language and visuals. Speaking of—great visuals in this one too.
I also got a sample of the background music when voicing. If you have selected music for your project, it is super-helpful to provide it to the voice actor. It really helps set the tone and pace for the voice over.
